Diamond Dez

Diamond Dez is an alternative rock and R&B artist. Her abundance of tattoos and alternative look lent themselves to the design inspiration for this University Union event poster. I went with a hand-drawn approach and added texture to simulate a weathered appearance similar to the tattoo flash panels you would find in your local traditional tattoo parlor. Being no stranger to the needle of a traditional tattoo gun, I chose iconic tattoo images with deeply symbolic meaning to represent her image. The diamond tattoo signifies courage and good fortune, the rose symbolizes femininity, and the swallows represent love, care, and affection.
